EFFECT OF CALCIUM AND VITAMIN D SUPPLEMENTATION IN PREGNANT WOMAN WITH HYPERTENSION AT SENTANI COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER

Low calcium intake causes an increase in high blood pressure by stimulating the release of parathyroid hormone and renin, which intracellular concentration smooth muscle cells vessels results vasoconstriction. This study aims to determine effect giving vitamin D supplements pregnant hypertension women on anthropometric outcomes newborns. The research design was quasi-experimental with two groups post-test-only design. A respondent 30 at 28-32 weeks gestation selected purposive sampling—data analysis using Mann Whitney. Calcium (2 x 500 mg/day) D3 (400 IU/day) were administered monitored for eight 15 as intervention group control who assumed receive from Health Service Program. Data levels taken before after intervention. showed that there a significant difference mean between groups, p-value systolic (0.002) diastolic (0.014), average decrease more group.
